Types of Poker Games

There are three major types or classifications of Poker Games. These are:

Draw Poker
Draw poker is a popular poker game mostly played at home but very rarely offered in casino poker and poker tournaments. Played skillfully, it can become boring and the lowball variations are more exciting poker games. Two to eight players can play. Find more about Draw Poker »

Stud Poker
Stud poker refers to a number of poker game variants in which each player receives a mix of face-down and face-up cards dealt in several betting rounds. Stud poker games are non-positional games, which means that the player who bets first in each round and can change from round to round. Community Card Poker
In community card poker games, each player is dealt an unfinished concealed poker hand, referred to as "hole cards". This is then shared with the community cards to make a full hand. The set of community cards is called a board and may be dealt in a line or arranged in a particular pattern. Miscellaneous Poker Games
